Fuse 69 - Passenger Footwell Fuse Panel

Fuse 69 started to blow on the car. It was a bit of a problem to diagnose because the car could actually idle for 30 minutes or drive for several hundred yards before blowing the fuse, or it could blow when you turned the key to start the engine. Fuse 69 also covers a wide set of electronics: PCM, Coil Packs, Fuel Injectors, Fuel Pump. I suspected a coil pack early on and bought a know good one from RockAuto for $35 to swap in and out during testing.

The problem actually turned out to be the PCM lower harness rubbing on the bracket that was supposed to keep the harness from rubbing on the transmission. You can where the problem occurred in the photos below.

Any time that you can see wire that should be wrapped, there is a problem.

Sadly, the photo isn't too great, but the insulation from 4 wires is rubbed off, and the starter wire insulation is nearly cut through.

Since none of the copper strands were broken, I avoided cutting and reconnecting the wires, and instead sealed them up with Liquid Tape and rewrapped and reloomed the bundle.
