Mustang SSP Wheels
My 1986
Mustang SSP came equipped with black-enameled steel wheels
with chrome trim rings and plastic center caps. When I used to see the CHP vehicles on the road, I saw them without the chrome trim rings. I
suspect this is because the rings can come loose during hard cornering, which is how I lost one of mine many years ago.

The four wheels that I have are shown above all lined up in the order that they are individually shown below.

This wheel is the worst of the lot with some rust showing through the black enamel. The rest of the wheels are in good shape.
I removed the center cap so that you can see what the wheel looks like without any trim. This is usually how I ran the wheel
on the car, back when they would fit. The wheel is still wet from being rinsed off, so this is what it would look like waxed. I
used to keep them waxed.

The wheel above is the same wheel dry with it's center cap.

The worst trim ring of the lot is above.

This trim ring has a bit of rust (above).

This is the best trim ring of the lot.
